Reporting to the Public Policy Manager and working closely with the Senior Director, Policy, Research and Planning, the Public Policy Analyst will support strategic engagement for a province-wide policy campaign, plan and develop multi-stakeholder projects, and lead committee and event planning for the Public Policy team. Other areas of responsibility include include researching and developing briefs, position papers and submissions, and creating public policy content for materials with a wide reaching audience, including government and elected officials.
What you will bring to the team
You are a University graduate, preferably with graduate level training in an appropriate discipline, such as public policy, health sciences, psychology and you have 1-2 years experience in public engagement and stakeholder consultation, or a strong desire to develop in this area. This position requires superior writing, analysis and research skills along with strong oral communication and facilitation skills. You have the ability to work collaboratively and manage relationships with stakeholders and leadership. You are comfortable multitasking and prioritizing work to meet tight deadlines. A personal commitment to high-quality work, a professional demeanour, diplomacy and good judgement are important in this role. Knowledge of the mental health and addictions systems in BC would be very valuable. Personal experience with mental health issues and services, through self or loved ones, is an asset in this role.
