The Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions recently released their 10-year plan, A Pathway to Hope, and outlined their vision for a coordinated, accessible system of mental health and substance use care.
While the plan is a clear, discernible step in the right direction, there are some notable shortcomings, specifically minimal to no mention of funding shortages, workforce needs and implementation targets. This begs the question of how do we move beyond principles and fulfill our shared vision of better mental health for all. How can we move from plan to action?
It’s going to take collaboration to find these answers, which is why CMHA BC has decided to convene a panel of cross-sector leaders to analyze the plan, consider possible next steps and build a foundation for continued advocacy.
We’ll be hosting a free webinar to engage in this important discussion. We are pleased to announce that our webinar panel will include:
- Keli Anderson, President & CEO of Family Smart
- Sarah Irving, Peer Advocate
- Leslie McBain, Co-founder of Moms Stop the Harm
- Nel Wieman, Senior Medical Officer at the First Nations Health Authority.
Please consider registering for the webinar and joining the discussion too.
