Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die but are struggling with the pain in their lives.
safeTALK is intended to help anyone build the confidence and skills to talk to someone who may be at risk of suicide. In this 3-hour workshop, learn how to help a person that is thinking about suicide connect to the supports they need. Participants will learn to:
- Identify people who may have thoughts of suicide
- Ask them directly about the possibility of suicide
- Connect them to life-saving community supports and resources
In recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day, this workshop is being offered for free with support from funds raised through CMHA BC’s 2018 Ride Don’t Hide event.
