Women & Wellness 2012
An uplifting evening of warmth and sharing
In support of the Canadian Mental Health Association, BC Division
On March 29, 2012, over 200 women gathered at one of Vancouver's hidden jems, the Jewel Ballroom, to lift a glass and raise their spirits at the 3rd annual western Women & Wellness event. Guests were welcomed to the gorgeous Jewel Ballroom and its 180 degree view of the West Coast mountains and the spectacular downtown Vancouver skyline. The event featured two outstanding speakers—Jessica Bruhn and Erica Sigurdson—a catered dinner and an auction.
The evening was a great success in lifting everyone’s spirits and raised over $25,000 for CMHA BC to help deliver mental health education programs and to address the stigma associated with mental health issues.
CMHA BC and the Women and Wellness Steering Committee extend sincere thanks to our national Women & Wellness sponsor, Shoppers Drug Mart, and the 2012 Vancouver event sponsors:

About Women & Wellness
There is a special energy when a group of women unite to share stories and increase understanding of a common concern. Women & Wellness is a unique event where participants raise a glass and lift a spirit—raising money to do something meaningful about mental illness. What began in Moncton, New Brunswick by word of mouth as a kitchen party has blossomed into a highly sought after invitation. Women of all ages, from teens to seniors, gather for a heart-warming evening of chef-prepared foods, wine, chocolate, and heart-touching stories.
Women & Wellness grew out of one family's loss of a son and brother by suicide and their resulting awareness of how common, yet hidden, mental illness continues to be. The event is based on the notion that all of us deserve an occasional night off and the belief that much more can be done to support people dealing with mental health issues and educate their loved ones.
